Coping with the Loss of a Child and Learning to Breathe Again

I’m Mrs. C., a proud Gold Star Mother of Petty Officer 2nd Class Anthony Michael, my oldest son, my heartbeat, my pride. Anthony joined the U.S. Navy right after high school, driven by courage and purpose. In April 2018, at just 24 years old, his life was tragically cut short in an auto accident.

The silence that followed his passing changed everything. The void he left is something words can’t fill. Yet even now, I still hear his voice calm, confident, and loving saying, “Mom, it’ll be aight.”

For a long time, I questioned those words. How could anything ever be “aight” again? But over time, they became a gentle reminder not that things would ever be the same, but that somehow, I could keep going. That somehow, I could honor him by helping others find their way through the same darkness.

The Birth of M.I.B.A.

In the lonely months after losing Anthony, I longed for someone who truly understood. I tried grief groups, but speaking in a circle of strangers felt too raw, too exposed. I searched for therapists or coaches who had been there  who knew what it felt like to lose a child and found almost none.

That pain sparked a mission.

I founded Mom It’ll Be Aight, Inc. to make sure no mother ever had to walk this road alone. Whether your child’s passing was from an accident, overdose, violence, or illness your grief is valid, your story matters, and you deserve a space where you can exhale without judgment.

My Work Today

As a Certified Grief Support Specialist and Life Coach, I meet mothers exactly where they are broken, healing, angry, searching, numb, or ready to rediscover purpose. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I offer what I once needed most:

"A listening ear, a compassionate heart, and the reassurance that your pain is not the end of your story."

Through Heart to Heart Sessions, self-led courses, and community gatherings, I help grieving mothers transform pain into purpose, one conversation at a time. My goal isn’t to “fix” grief it’s to help you live with it, to find hope again, and to rebuild a life that still honors your child’s legacy.

Our Commitment

The M.I.B.A. Promise

Our babies are forever ours.

Their names deserve to be spoken.

Their love deserves to live on.

If you’re here, please know: you are seen, you are understood, and you are not alone. Together, we honor their memory and our own strength reminding one another that even in our deepest pain…

Mom, it’ll be aight.

Join the Movement

You don’t have to walk this road alone. Here at Mom It’ll Be Aight, Inc., we believe that healing begins when one mother’s story meets another’s understanding heart.

Together, we cry, we laugh, we remember, and we rise one heartbeat at a time.

Because healing doesn’t happen in isolation it happens in connection.
